Whogohost, running since 2007 has prided itself as the “No. 1 Hosting Company in Nigeria.
They started under EnnovateNigeria limited. But in 2011 they got on their own brand, having obviously grown in popularity and patronage. They grew to become a domain registrar and a major Stakeholder in the Nigerian web hosting ecosystem.
We have for the course of this and other reviews patronised their domain and web hosting services and will give you a brief overview of our experience with them.
In 2015 we had one of our clients purchase web hosting with them. Their customer support was good and they responded very quickly to tickets and livechat requests almost faster than many other hosts we used. Their pricing was on the high, for all their services. This probably can be explained by the large world force that the company kept, for more quality service delivery.
We monitored the website for our client and we were confidence informed that our client had to upgrade his hosting account 3 times in less than two years, because their resources application was miserly. However they compensated for this in good customer support.
Around 2018, we informed our client of recurring downtimes on the whogohost server. During this period many sites hosted with them experienced difficulties and social media and review websites were full of negative remarks for whogohost.
We continued to monitor our client’s hosted sites and have been noticing irregularities. Since 2018
Their once Solid customer care service became unresponsive, and downtimes became very frequent. After this period we had to migrate our client to another host.
It is also worthy of note that their DNS system and even Domain reseller services had many challenges, affecting many businesses including that of our client. They never compensated, but kept to their rules. We however noticed that they have once more revitalized their Customer Service, as most of our queries were replied within 3 minutes average on livechat and within 5 hours on ticket support. They have also implemented WhatsApp support, which has also responded within 5 minutes.
We have given this breakdown, to give you an idea of our(client’s) direct experience with whogohost.
In summary, as at the time of writing, whogohost is rated 6.4/10 on hostadvice.com, a trusted and uncompromised web hosting review platform based on 24 customer reviews.
We have also done a additional surveys, prior to this review, to confirm Whogohost current status. We also had another client host with them since last year September, below is our candid opinion of whogohost!
